Do you ever dreamily think about moving temporarily or permanently to a new country or even to a different part of your country? Sometimes it's your choice and you can't wait for the adventure to begin, other times it's the ONLY choice. I know both those feelings. I have done it 17 times in my life, first as an army brat where my father's job frequently moved us across the country , then for studying, job, another job, a partner... the list goes on ;) 

Every single time, the romance or the anxiety of a new place sooner or later gives way to the feeling of being alone even if you move with family, even if you can speak the language! The burden of figuring things out, all by yourself, with every failed google search and fb post chipping away from the adventure a little at a time.

I strongly believe, in today's day and age, we should be able to

So, I am on a one-woman mission, to build Local Homey: a PEOPLE-FIRST platform to connect newcomers to kind, empathetic, non discriminating locals, seasoned expats, professionals and businesses who we call local homeys (pronounced as ho-mees), wherever in the world you want to travel, move or live, globally! Our journey is starting with Ireland and the UK, but with your help and referrals, we plan to have a local homey community everywhere new people are heading!
