Have you ever moved across continents to a new country excited to start a new job or life but ended up feeling like you landed in the upside down world by mistake? We did. A few times.

And we know many more expats, students and remote working explorers like us trying to figure out their new life, one home rental, one tax return, one local nuance at a time. All this while, while we are walk around with pertinent questions boggling our anxious friendless minds like "which area do I even start looking for a home rental in", "where do I buy furniture", "how do I find a handyman", "what are the rules to go to the doctor", the locals physically around us are totally oblivious of the perils of your expat life. They sometimes wonder why these well-earning-weird-dressing foreigners are always hanging out within themselves, acting strange - too friendly or too straight faced, both parties hardly ever engaging in real conversations for a long time. Then, if time does its magic like it usually does and the place feels like home, the people around you feel like Homeys. But sometimes, even years after you first moved to a country or city, you feel like a foreigner!
With Local Homey, we want to shorten this learning curve with a vision to bridge the gap between local residents and newcomers, building a community slowly and intently.
